Does my US trademark protect me in the UK and EU?
No. The USPTO states that a US trademark does not afford protection in another country, and that trademarks must be filed in each country where protection is sought. For the UK that means a UK trade mark through the UKIPO, for the EU an EU trade mark through the EUIPO, or an international application under the Madrid Protocol. Where UK or EU legal work is needed, such as trademark filings or opinions, we coordinate qualified local counsel so you keep one point of contact.
Do you work with brands outside the US?
Yes. We serve brand owners in the US, UK and EU. Notices are filed as the brand owner's authorized agent, based on rights you own and confirm. Starting prices are in US dollars, and quotes in GBP and EUR are available on request.
Which marketplaces do you cover in the UK and EU?
TikTok Shop, Amazon and eBay. TikTok Shop operates in the UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Spain, and TikTok announced it would be available in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland from 15 June 2026. Amazon runs stores in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Belgium and Ireland, among others. eBay runs VeRO programs for the UK and Germany. If you see copies on another marketplace, mention it in your audit request.
Does copyright need to be registered in the UK or EU?
No. UK copyright protection arises automatically, and the UK has no register of copyright works. In the EU, copyright arises when the work is created, with no registration or other formality. Each marketplace program still sets its own requirements for what it asks to see, so we check them with you.
Can a notice under the Digital Services Act remove a listing?
The DSA requires hosting services to offer a way to report content someone considers illegal, and to decide on notices in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner. A good notice gives a substantiated explanation, the exact URL, the sender's name and email, and a good faith statement. The platform decides, so a notice is a request that gets reviewed, not an order. This is general information, not legal advice.
